dang busy weekend

had a CRAZY busy weekend.
the sooz' birthday was Saturday so that was particularly busy. thank god for her friends. they came in and took care of her while I had my show to do. she would've been all alone if it weren't for them so I owe them big.
Saturday was our first 2 show day, because of the snow storm last week, and it was kinda draining. on top of that, i ran over to the bar where we were going to have the party, to set up balloons and drop off a cake. that was a little nuts. But made it back for the evening show - even though I was way low on energy.
The party was fun - not as many people as I thought would be there but still fun. We had it at Keybar - which I was told would be crowded, but I did not expect that crowd.... it was crazy. it started clearing out later into the party but it still was tight.
They had a Rolo shot, which was basically just like some chocolaty shot - like kahlua and vodka or something - a stronger mudslide. that was tasty. They were super nice there - even sent over complimentary shots towards the end of the night. It was awesome. The exchange was as follows:

Bartender: Did you get your complimentary shots yet?
Me: (shock) no.
Bartender: How many of you are there?
Me: (say 15, say 15, say 15) 10.
Bartender: Ok, I'll send them right over.

Sweet... so they hooked us up. Really nice russian lady. Adrienna. Say hi to her next time. Left her good tip, in cash.
Sunday was the final show - had a headache for it, but it was good. I was pleased with my final performance and we had a great crowd. Then went back home and watched TV... for the first time in a few weeks. Yay! time to get caught up on 24 and Lost! WOOHOO!!!!!

the end

so the show is over now. I hope I have something to roll into real quick. I will miss the rehearsals and the show - it was an experience. There were definitely issues with the show (mainly internal strife) but I think we put on a good production - regardless of what some reviews said. I agree that there were things that could have been tightened up but for this run, we did as good a job as we could with the issues that popped up.
let's see - just to list a few:
- we lost an original cast member to work conflicts
- one of the other cast members was away for vacation/work for 2 weeks of the rehearsal
- there were clashes of personality - that contributed to a fairly uncomfortable working environment
- too many set changes - agh, that killed me.
Anyways, it was a good experience - and I think any work in this industry is good, especially when you are constantly learning. You learn how to deal with things, adversities - and you come out of these better than if everything had gone smoothly. Like you learn how to deal with a flat falling during the show.... holy crap.
anyways... on to the next thing. We'll see you at the next production, whatever that may be.

doo de doo

so tomorrow is the wifey's birthday. it's a big one too. and i have yet to get a present.... agh!!! I mean, i have some things planned but I always had these grand dreams of what I could do for her.
One of them would have been cool - but probably expensive and a bit of a throwback to the John Hughes world. I was thinking of having dinner in some private room somewhere or something with a banquet hall or whatever next door. The noise would get progressively louder as we finish our meal and of course, we would HAVE to see what was going on next door.
When we open the doors, of course, all her friends/family would be there and we would party. It would be a fancy occasion because the Sooz likes to get dressed up fancy. That's really the main thing - I need to take her somewhere that's fancy so she can get dressed up and eat fancy and dance fancy. My friends had a great idea - have a prom. I've heard of that before but logistically, it would've been a nightmare, specially with this play.
Speaking of the play - it's going well. We had been away for a bit so Wednesday was a little weak but last night was good and it should get stronger. Another review came out and was still not what we wanted but the complaints are all the same - even from the people that come and see it. Nothing we can do about it at this point except keep doing it as we've been doing it.
Ok, time to eat lunch. I was told last night that I look like I've lost weight, and at some point on stage, i even looked gaunt. some models would kill for that comment. me, I just don't eat when the wife is away - i'm literally helpless and in fact, just forget to eat. bad, yes. but hey, i'm getting hungry now - writing about food makes me hungry so every entry at noon will be about food. so i will eat. and i will be bountiful. with a big booty.
bye now.

Opinion..

I think I talked about this before on here.. but I wonder just how much opinion I can get away with here. On the one hand, you are entitled to my full thoughts (and they are wacky as hell, let me tell you) - but it definitely could lead to offending someone or something or some belief.
I suppose only a few people really read this so I can freely right whatever I want - but this website has also been my acting site and I should treat it as a business site. But on the OTHER hand, won't casting people, agents, people like that WANT to see some of my personality, and my opinions?
Maybe someone one day will come on to the site and laugh their ass off because of something I wrote, where I didn't hold back. I laugh at things I think of everyday! Why shouldn't you benefit from that?
Hrm, I need a polling module. But for now, comment or tag me and let me know what you think. I can rip some sh!t up man. Just gimme a chance, coach!

Sports stars are the new Rod Stewarts?

markphilippoussis_200x329.jpg

this HAS to
be a camera trick

I'm not sure why I was flipping around - but somehow I came across this SI article that had dish on all these sports stars and their girlies. Alyssa Milano, Sheryl Crow, Eva Longoria?! WOW. I thought Seal had it good but these sports dudes are not doing too shabby themselves. It's a great link, worthy of a read.
And all I have to say is, what the hell is wrong with you Philippousis? This is Mark Philippousis and his new <18 girlfriend, American Model Alexis Barbara. I mean, she's not too shabby to look at and she's a model but have you guys stood in the mirror together lately. You look like Andre the Giant and the Princess Bride. And what's with the flat shoes honey - the man is SOOO much taller than you. You could use a high heel or 7. Keep the pilgrimage loafers at home - Phil(can I call you Phil) can afford you new shoes.

up late again….

What the hell did I just do this evening? It's now 2:11am in the morning. Let's see.... I actually did do a lot on my website. Added the tagboard and a contact me form. I probably should test that right now to see if it works.
Let's see what else I did - I guess I multi-tasked - while doing the website thing, I also played some poker. I finished up about 10 bucks. I got quad 7s on the river, while I'm sure this other guy was sitting with a straight... he thought long and hard about calling me on that one. He ended up folding though - showed him my cards, but no reaction. He was probably cussin me - quad 7s. not too shabby. I probably could've reeled him in for more but, like I said, I didn't get it until the river. Best thing about playing online is you can jump for joy when you get a kick ass hand. jump for joy = bad poker face.
doo, de doo, I'm also trying out a new blog entry software. Zempt. It's a piece of desktop software that, supposedly, is supposed to make blog entry much much easier. I guess so far it's pretty easy, since I don't have to log on to the web. I can also write blog entries off line, then just load em all up.
GET EXCITED PEOPLE!!!! MORE EXCITING ENTRIES TO COME! Meanwhile, tag my site. G'night peoples.

Search for a Tagboard

In my search for a new tagboard - I've run across a bunch of cool website with PHP stuff and just random other stuff. Check out:

http://www.phpgear.net/index.php?id=resources&vo=1

and http://www.webfroot.co.nz/projects.php
I think I'm going to install the phpTagboard from here. That way, I have control over it and there's no popups. Wee! Also found Shoutmix but it's hosted - plus it looks kinda sucky. Will test it out and we'll see.
Oooh, found some cool MT stuff too. Auto-link URLs. sweet.

wow…

InvisibleWoman-800.jpg

you're fantastic.

Fantastic Four trailer came out last week on Apple.com. Looks awesome. Fantastic Four just had some great superheroes. I used to have dreams as a kid where I was the Human Torch. Who didn't?
Check it out here. http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox/fantastic_four/
And since it's been awhile since I've had a picture of some random female superstar on here, I present to you - Jessica Alba. I know her pretty well, and I'm pretty sure her eyes are saying "I want you." Hands off, Sue Storm. I'm married. So are you. And I don't do invisible chicks.

Next steps

Finally got some time to make the call to Marla Kirban. I scheduled an hour consultation with her for next week, where I'll have to read some stuff and she'll figure out if I have a future in voiceover or not, give me some pointers, etc. The consult itself is pretty expensive ($125 for an hour, holy crap!) but she's highly regarded in the VO industry - one of the top voiceover coaches in New York City. And it would be something great to add to my resume.
She's gonna love my Simpsons voices... In fact, I'm not even going to use my regular voice - I'm just going to talk like Apu, the whole time. Even when she tells me to stop. Won't that be hysterically funny. As she boots me out of her office in the first 5 minutes. And pockets my $125 just for wasting her time.
But it'll be worth it!

Tagboard

Yeah, sorry about the missing tagboard - I started getting popups with it, which is just BULL! I kinda liked it so people can tag me real quick without having to comment on an actual entry so I'm going to have to find my own.
STUPID POPUPS! be back with a new tagboard real soon.
