decaf?
Holy smokes.... Here I am, awake at some ungodly hour - what is it? 5:47 AM? I had a decaf coffee with Bailey's, and I am somehow still awake. I don't blame the coffee because I could've probably gone to sleep a long time ago.
Maybe this is some post-stolen laptop trauma where I feel like I need to make up for lost time. Nah, probably isn't it either because I've been known to stay up late with my computer a lot.
Tonight, it was a combination of this old PC not working on me. Couldn't get my VPN to work - not sure why I needed it at 2am but sometimes, things need to get done. And why would you have an hour like 2am, if you weren't supposed to do anything with it? Then once I got my laptop working properly, I started doing work again. AND, I was all ready to go to sleep and Gothika came on. Well, dag nabbit, I got sucked into that. Semi-scary but not because of the content per se - more of the filming and editing and sound, made it creepy. Halle Berry, as usual, looked great in it, even as a psycho inmate, constantly haggard because she's running or getting attacked. If all psych ward patients look like her, I done doing the wrong profession.
I suppose I should go to sleep now since it's only Monday... and I still need to work the rest of the week. Good news is we are actually working at the hotel here so I don't have to get up much earlier than 8:30-9. 2.5 hours, that should be a perfect amount of beauty sleep. night kiddies.

what's up? where the updates been? why are there still pictures of the magnificent Mr. vincent up? well I'll tell ya.
i have just been having a busy last few weeks all culminating in getting robbed in Vancouver Canada, the city of apparently "hundreds of car break-ins a day", according to the fine Vancouver emergency services. That story is too long to go into right now, as I'm about to go to bed in preparation for another few days away from home - it's getting old... But I'm sure I'll have time to comment on it later.
Meanwhile, in acting news, I had two auditions today. I made choices and did them - even if perhaps they were the wrong choices... oh well. Starting up improv again real soon - March 30th. and I saw Neil LaBute's "This Is How It Goes" with Ben Stiller, Amanda Peet, and Jeffrey Wright. Good show, great play - one wonders how it would do without the star power. I feel like I saw them do so many things an acting teacher would tell us not to do, lots of pacing back and forth, non-specific gestures, really really really speedy dialogue - I guess it works for some plays and others, it's not so appropriate.
ok, off to bed. will update the top page soon... hope i get a new laptop soon and setup soon. this backup laptop crap is pissing me off.. and I just started rebuilding my old machine too. SUX!

i've been so crazy busy over the last few weeks that I seriously haven't had time to update my blog. although when I actually have time to do it, I think how much effort it takes to write something down.
SO since I'm writing something right now - you can be assured that I just finished something big and I now have a bit of time to update you on what's been going on...
let's see.....
oh man, brain is so fried, I can't even think straight. off the top of my head, I'm psyched to be going back to UCB to take classes. I'm going to be studying with Dyna Moe again - who rocks the world. She's a great teacher, and more importantly, I think she's funny as hell so I respect her that much more. She's tough and doesn't really pamper you too much but that's fine by me. I need someone who can tell me when I'm funny and when I suck. Honest feedback is hard to come by. I AM a little nervous because I haven't done the Harold in awhile - so I'm reading Truth In Comedy again to get some of it back.
I've been in a different hotel every night of this week. Not sure why I'm checking in and checking out of hotels but it seemed like a good idea when I booked the stays. I probably won't do that again - but I want Platinum status so bad! The priority treatment you get at Starwood when you are Platinum rocks the hard rock. upgrades, extra points, everything. So I'm going to try to go for it based on stays - we'll see if i can get it.
In Seattle right now and going to spend the weekend here and Vancouver. Will take pictures. Will update. Will let you know if I lie and don't update.
That's it. Been listening to Damien Rice a bunch - probably should load it up in my radio.blog so you can listen. Catchy mellow stuff. That's it for now.

Watched last week's episode of Lost last night and just needed to find out what the song that Hurley as listening to at the end of the show. Turns out it is "Delicate" by Damien Rice. I'm listening to his album right now and it is AWESOME! if you are in the mood for mellow music (sounds like it could be the Garden State soundtrack), Damien Rice is great. I'll definitely keep an eye out for him. oh yeah, album is called "O" - check it out. |
