aching for attention

Aren't ya? did you guys miss me in the 12 days that it has taken me to update my blog last? well, that's because for a good portion of it, I was in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Si, Senor. I was hangin in the sun, checking out the mountains, running from the time share guys, it was a lot of fun.
I've contemplated writing a full review of my trip - but I refer back to my earlier post of how hard it is to keep a blog. maybe I'll do it in chunks as the pictures come through.
I've also looked at some other actors' websites. I really need to update this site - maybe have the blog NOT be the first thing that appears but rather have some opening page, with my mug and some other overview facts about me:

  • "Stunning..." - NY Times
  • ".. gripping and intense .." - Rex Reed
  • "Smells like poo. which is great!" - anonymous dog

maybe a pictures section or something. plus a better resume page.
I also need to make it easier to add pictures and random updates. or just have to find the time to write.
so i'm looking for a cheap deal on the psp - even if it's just 20-25 bucks off. I just don't want to pay full price. then i can take games and movies and shows with me on the road - contemplating starting to watch more shows that waste my time - maybe numb3rs or - I did not know there was a "Dr Who - 2005". interesting.
ok, i'll update about mexico tomorrow. er later. going to see "Sides" tomorrow. er later. upon suggestion of some friends... you know who you are. That sh*t better be damn good - look for the review tomorrow!

    ah… home

Back from San Francisco. It's good to be home. Passed out on the plane so consequently I am awake now - but I would normally be awake anyways...
I am in a fairly good mood. Had a good conversation with a co-worker who used to do my job but has moved on. He's an elder statesman, of sorts, and he had some of the same thoughts I am having now back when he was doing my job. Comforting to know that I'm not the only one who is lost in trying to figure out what the hell I do. I really just want to win the $144 million on Friday's Megamillions.
Oh man, we were soooo close to being millionaires last Friday. My dad hit 4 of the numbers PLUS the mega ball. One damn number short of $100 million. And you'd think that would be a pretty decent payout. I mean, when has ANY of use ever come that close. Nope, it's only 5k or something like that, which he has to split with two other people anyways. Hopefully that just means he's getting much much closer to the big payoff. That's just the craziest luck though. Until then, I'll keep slaving for the man - and playing Tradesports.
Ugh, put a stupid bet down on the Dodgers-Giants game today... stupid stupid. oh well. i'm still up.
    nighty night kids.

    Crazy busy (sorta)

I'm back and forth looking back at my weekend - trying to decide whether I was crazy busy or not so busy.
Let's see, Friday night - went out to 17 Home for a friend's surprise 30th birthday. It was a cool setup in the back room, completely decked out with decorations. They had pictures of her from when she was a kid ironed on to T-shirts that we all wore, plus pictures of her and some of the other party people (who have been friends for a long time) from whenst they were much younger - and much less cool looking. Although they were probably still uber-cool inside. They had these little ski cookie things, with little sugar pellets in the bag to simulate snow (i found it fascinating - GENIUS! - sugar pellets = snow = E = mc2). I apparently had the coolest t-shirt with her picture on it - I did not think it was that cool however it was not easy for me to soak in the full picture since I was wearing it. Come to think of it, I still haven't really looked at it. I should go do that now. After my blog entry.
But it was a fun night. Similar to other nights of drinking but had some good conversations with people. Spent a good chunk of the night talking to a friend about her Asian speed-dating man. That was an interesting conversation. Not to blow her cover entirely, but the conversation basically boiled down to the uncomfortable feeling when you actually are into the person more than they are into you - and how that usually results in you being more interested in said un-interested person. Anyways, I've been that guy - not often, mind you - I'm not that Jude Law - but if the dude is like that, cut loose and say bye bye. Which I think she is very capable of doing since there are probably several guys waiting in the wings. or so i hear...
Saturday - was not so busy. Another successful day on Tradesports though. Made some solid bets and they all panned out. So I went and bought a new iPod - the Photo iPod 60GB. Life is finally returning to normal sinec that stupid Vancouver thing. I'd hate to see if anything really bad ever happened to me - I mean, it's taken me so long to recover from my laptop bag being stolen. I would be useless if anything else happened. which it won't. because i just knocked on wood. magic wood. that's what the ladies call it anyways. (er lady). bought lady a watch too, since I was a winna on Tradesports and because it's been way too long since I just bought her something. it was nice. she likey. then watched tv in the evening. yeah, not so busy.
Today - my nephew was baptized. he is too cute. he wore the outfit I got baptized in, and like me, (i think) didn't cry. go figure - i didn't cry today. he was such a good boy. it was nice to see all the people that gathered together for him too. it's been way too long since I've seen some of those people. usually see them at the annual christmas party, but my mom didn't have one of those this year so andrew brought us all together. had a nice chinese banquet afterwards and came home. once i got home, I've been busy though. got the ipod loaded up. got several phone calls for acting gigs (including ANOTHER role - woohoo!). and just getting everything in order. oh, and the good day of Tradesports yesterday - offset by a totally CRAP day today. oh well. I got too excited. have to make the smart bets.
one final thought because this was so appropriate of the hertz lady to tell me in the first place. when i went to hertz to return my rental car from today, some lady was talking the hertz lady's ear off - like "go take care of that", etc. So when I get up there, naturally, I have to be curious and ask wtf that was all about.

Hertz lady: I have gas and I can't release it.

there was more. but like anything good in life, I'm gonna keep you wanting more....

    as you can see

    luther_vandross_unc.gif

    luther no good
    paint shop either

it takes a lot of effort (or a lot of boredom (or a lot of late nights)) to keep a blog updated. I do have tons of interesting things to write about but it does take a lot of effort to sit down and write. i'm not one who likes to talk about things over and over again - so I'll end up telling my wife and then someone else about something, and then I'm done. I don't want to sit down and type it out again.
But I find that typing things out keeps my brain fresh. Then I don't sit in front of the TV and watch random late night shows like Murphy Brown or Cinemax (pause for a moment and think of Murphy Brown on Cinemax). Or log on to play more poker or surf Tradesports, both which have made me money, btw.. but still dangerous. Separate posts about those later.
damn, do i need to change that heading... i guess i'll suck it up and do it right now... congratz the Tar Heels on a great NCAA run. They do deserve it - dominant inside outside game - dominant DOMINANT inside game. But really, I watch the NCAA for only one reason (well, besides gambling on it... damn gambling genes) - One Shining Moment. Go wit yo bad self, Luther.
